I did originally run FCOMP 21 c:\sbbs\ctrl and ALLFIX did see all the file areas correctly.

What version of Synchronet and Allfix are you running? Although fcomp seemed to work, I could never get it to write to the file area --
instead I write to files.bbs and call ADDFILES.
I'm running Synchronet 3.16 and ALLFIX version 5 -- could never get
6.0.2x to work here consistently.

I'm running 3.16a with v6 of ALLFIX. I'm not asking it to write to the filearea but to create a files.bbs by scanning each file area but it doesn't. I'll try v5 and see what happens. Do v5 need to be registered?

The Synchronet FILELIST utility can be used to generate files.bbs for
each directory. http://synchro.net/docs/utility_reference.html#FILELIST

Thank you sir!!
Worked like a charm... :)
Another quick question, in my research I've been seeing/reading the files.bbs is a 0 bit file?? Is it empty or should it have the entire list
of files in that directory for ALLFIX to work?

It depends on how you're using ALLFIX. If you're just using the
FILES.BBS as a way for ALLFIX to pass the file descriptions to
Synchronet (e.g. via ADDFILES), then the FILES.BBS will only contain
the file names and description of newly imported files and after
ADDFILES is run, the file is then truncated (to 0 bytes).
If you're going to use ALLFIX to hatch files from your BBS, then I
suspect the FILES.BBS will need to be current (have a current list of
file names and descriptions) with the Synchronet filebase and no
truncated (0 bytes in length).
