I bought a Nixsys Socket 7 computer for my nostalgia stuff. Dos games, Tape driver etc etc.

Because I wanted the authentic experience I bought a Sound Blaster Pro and Sound Blaster 16 card on eBay. Had to sell an arm and liver for it. The packaging is a nice add for my hobby room :).

Just finished this setup last weekend. The Sound Blaster Pro would play FM music but I couldnt make Digital Audio work.

Then I digged deep into the BIOS and disabled a lot of options and my oh my it actually worked.

Playing MMDEMO.EXE from the SBPRO directory brought back some fond memories indeed. Same as the DOOM music and effects, damn!

    oP!

Yeah, Socket 7 was an awesome lineup.. I have a couple of them still, need to do something with them... Years ago I had a couple of AT boards with socket
7, SiS chipset, but ALL of the IO was onboard like an ATX, including LAN, sound, GPU, etc... they were pretty decent, just wish I held onto them...

I still occasionally rock out on Wolf3D - I have all the editors (I bought
the CD back at release with all episodes, mapedit, wolf edit, etc). I have a few custom maps.

Also loved Commander Keen 4 (my fav out of all the Keens).
