I listened to an interesting podcast on my way home last night -
Ditching Hourly, with guest Alastair McDermott.
https://podcast.ditchinghourly.com/episodes/alastair-mcdermott-the-ai-powered-thought-leader
Alastair is a writer, and described an interesting setup - using VS Code
for writing the book, using git for version control, and agentic AI to
perform roles. He used a program called RU-code to connect AI to VS
Code.
He created several "personas" as beta readers, and would ask AI to
critique writing based on their "perspectives". Another AI was an
"editor" AI. Another one would make the format wordpress-friendly and
publish the text.
He wasn't using github, but storing locally. I do like the idea of
versioning and backup storage, especially when having AI tweak text -
you can diff the versions to see if any downstream issues occurred.
It's quite a contrast from the 45 cent spiral notebook and Bic crystal pen
I've been using of late. :)
