I tried several different telnet clients on my mobile devices over the past few years, and the biggest problem I've always run into was that

Did you check out that TERMinator app others have been discussing here?
It seems to handle ansi surprisingly well! It's in the apple app store. Not sure if it's on android or not since I don't own one.

I recently tried Termius on my Android phone and have had pretty good
luck with it. You have to set the charset to "IBM437" for ANSI to display
Yeah, but doesn't Termius make you create an account and log in to
something? Why does an SSH client need to call home for things? Ehhh. I
tried it out on IOS.. but really, Termux (Android) and iSH (IOS) do
almost everything you ever need.
