    How about a different ad each day for the same bbs. That might be one way to have your cake and eat it too.

    One day might be a text ad, one day might be an ansi ad, one might be a color text ad. etc.

    IIRC, Constructive Chaos used to post a different ansi each day. I
    remember because I thought it was neat to see which one I would see that
    day. I haven't been paying attention lately, so that could still be true.

    I used to display all of my network and BBS ANSIs on login, decided
    instead to display one random ANSI on login. If I get a repeat caller,
    they'll get a nice surprise! :)

    Good idea. I do that, during some seasons, with my goodbye screens.
