I have 1gbs here but may flick down to 500 as I have gone mail only

I'd like it if my ISP offered a 500gb speed tier. It's either 300 megabit or gigabit (and they have some tiers lower than 300 too). I'm currently using their 300 megabit tier. But I suppose going from 300 to 500 wouldn't be much of a difference; I just think it would be nice to have more tiers so that the difference in price isn't so great.

I currently have fiber internet at 300 megabit (and since it's fiber, that's the same speed for both download & upload). My BBS is on a dedicated PC that's connected via ethernet.

I have a feeling that the 500mb band will be phased out in favour of having 1gb/2.5gb and upwards

I have 100 down and 30 up, as far as I remember. Quite old fashioned, I know!

There is fiber in my area but my building is not wired for it so it is not an option for me.

The speed has never been an issue though and everthing moves along as you'd expect.

Your uplink doesn't forward on echomail messages that don't include an origin line. RickV's message was broken, so only some people got it.

My Internet Speed is DSL 100down/40up

I have cable internet at my house which is supposed to be 1.5Gb down and 50Mb up. My modem only has a gigabit wan port on it, so I only see about ~940Mb down.

Bell did run fibre directly to our house and they've been knocking on my door almost weekly. Bell is in the habit of signing you up at once price and then raising it 2 months later, so I have no intention of switching to them anytime soon.

Bell initially offered to hook up the fibre for $60 /mo, called up Rogers and they matched that price for two years.

Correct, no node in Hub 3 would have received it, because it failed validation as a bad packet. Any other messages in the packet (if there were any) would not have been passed on either.

I am not 100% certain but suspect that at least some other FTN tossers also behave in this manner, i.e. one bad message spoils the whole packet.

I haven't really heard anything in this regard until recently with clrghauz. Unless they were old or abandoned tossers that most people don't use any more.

Either way, I'd imagine most people would steer clear of those tossers if they were made aware of the issue.
