Immortal Barons is a turn-based strategy game for the terminal. You rule a barony in a ruined, post-apocalyptic
world. You buy land, feed your people, build an army, and fight rival empires. The goal is to have the highest
net worth when the turns run out, or to conquer everyone else.
The game is written in Go. It is an independent remake, inspired by the 1990s BBS door game Barren Realms
Elite.
Early work in progress. Immortal Barons is not ready for real play-testing or inter-BBS (IBBS) play yet.
Mechanics are still changing.
This is a game I'm working on.

Sounds very interesting. Keep us up to date on your progress, in particular when it is ready for "live" BBS testing.

Will it support winsockets? That seems to be the trickiest part for
door developers...

Sure... I setup a Mystic BBS today and added it as a door. Worked pretty well.
As for when it's ready for "live" testing, do you mean when all the known bugs are worked out? It's playable now, but some of the math may be off. Pretty soon, I'll need more feedback about that. And there's a couple dip options that haven't been implemented yet. Basically if you're just curious, you might want to set it up as a door (https://andy5995.github.io/immortal-barons/door-setup/) and play a few turns. Otherwise, I'll certainly remember to post here when it's more developed.

Sorry I think I read something wrong and had the impression that you didn't really think it was ready for others to be installing yet. ;)
I am curious enough that I will try to grab a copy in the next couple
of days.
