I just received an email from US Med, the company that provides me the CGM monitor
for diabetes. (continuous glucose monitor).
It made me think about my health insurance plan and the things that it provides at no
additional cost to me.
US Med sends me free Dexcom G7 devices on a regular basis so I can implant them and
get continuous glucose readings without having to stick myself.
My insurance covers my bi-weekly visits to a clinic that does insulin infusions which
hopefully help to retrain the pancreas to do its job in producing insulin to the body.
My insurance covered my CPAP machine for nighttime breathing and a nebulizer for
daytime breathing maintenance.
ANY durable medical equipment is covered under my plan.
Again, I am so happy that I had a health rep. visit my home after I retired so I could
decide on a good plan for the future. I highly recommend that everyone avails themselves of a health care representative to explain the various plans available when it
comes time to decide.
