• Back in the saddle :)

After about a seven year hiatus from camping, I'm getting back into it again. Seemed a shame to let all of the camping gear go to waste. :)

Checked into the Clearwater Recreational Area on Friday. It's part of the Ocala National Forest. Nice park, huge camp sites. No water or electric at each site, which is something different. They do have drinking water available at various spots around the two loops that they have. Facilities are what you'd expect. Nice lake with a "beach" and a 1.3 mile trail around the lake. Weekend was busy, but there were still spots available. It was mainly the "Day Use" section that was really busy yesterday.

Anyway, this was the inaugural trip with my new Sylvansport Go trailer. Loved it. I have reservations for the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park during the long weekend in June. Can't wait!

    Very cool!

Haven't camped in YEARS... Almost a full time job taking care of MIL,
so not on the radar right now. Wife and I have talked about it
    though...

Congrats! I did a search for your model camper and it looks like it would be easy to tow. Are you using the cargo area up top to haul any gear? Looks like you can take it anywhere.

It is a breeze to tow, in fact I hardly notice it at all. Makes 0% impact on my gas mileage. In fact, I think it actually improves it by 1 mpg or so. :)

Just came back from Anastasia State Park about two weeks ago. My next trip is down to John Pennekamp in Key Largo. I have reservations mid October for that. That'll round out this year's camping. I have other travel plans for November/December. Need to start looking for campsites for 2027 now.

I'll use this GO for a few years...once I retire I'll move up to something like a Tab 360CS. I plan on doing some traveling and would want to be able to just pull in, level and hook up. :) At least that's my plans anyway.
