My wife, my son and I were on our way to a restaurant to celebrate a combination Valentine's Day / 51st wedding anniversary when we got rear-ended in traffic. Both his vehicle and ours had to be towed, but
no one was injured.
I mention this because I just got the car back from a Ford dealer
earlier today for a transmission repair. Our plan was to drive the motorhome with the vehicle in tow to Fort Lauderdale for an annual
Police and Fire meeting on Sunday and a Police Retiree luncheon on
Monday.
Those plans are obviously cancelled. Now starts the process of getting
a rental car and doing everything necessary to get the car repaired.
We went from glad to sad in a heartbeat. I wish I could have captured
a picture of my face when I looked into my rear view mirror and saw a pickup truck speeding towards me, too fast to stop in time.

Well, that sucks. Glad nobody was hurt, at least.
I'd wager good money that the pickup driver was texting and/or looking
at his phone at the time. Hopefully he got a ticket.
Maybe you could still take the motorhome with a rental car in tow...
He skated on the ticket, but he was a retired Navy vet and we each
thanked each other
for their service before leaving the scene.

I'm glad you two took that route. Up here in Canada it would have turned into a
shouting/blaming match with fists flying.
Glad no one was hurt, or worse.
