• OPNSense 26.1?

From Shurato@1337:3/185 to All on Saturday, May 30, 2026 18:07:00
I just updated from 25.7.11 to 26.1. Seems fairly stable, but my DNS server has always gone down on a daily basis. I tried to set an event for it to reboot if that happens, but that never gets run. Any way, I'm pretty sure
    it's the RealTek NICs.

I've recently upgraded and last night had some random reboots. The machine
has never done this in the past. It also didn't seem to generate a core
dump like it has in the past.

Could be the machine, I don't have the time yet to do a memory test to make sure but just a little odd.

OPNsense has been amazing with stability for multiple years going. So
possible it's just the machine itself.

Ok, I changed some of my Unbound DNS advanced settings to make the server
more robust and added a monit test service and service to restart Unbound if the DNS server went down. That seems to have resolved my issues! AI was really helpful in this case. Told me exactly what I needed to do. Unfortunately, this will only last until the content providers stop givng AI the answers...
