    Description:
    Amazon's near-10% discount brings the RTX 5070 to its lowest-ever price ever at just $499.

    FULL STORY ======================================================================

    If you've been on the fence about buying one of Nvidia's more powerful Blackwell GPUs simply because they're too costly, the RTX 5070 has finally dropped below $500, which might tempt you to pull the trigger.

    Wccftech noticed that the mid-range workhorse of a graphics card is now $499.99 , which is $50 under its MSRP at Amazon with the catch being that this is a deal for Prime members only.

    The card in question is the MSI Gaming RTX 5070 12G Shadow 2X OC with 12GB of video RAM and a top boost speed of 2557MHz.

    Nvidia's RTX 5000 GPUs are starting to drop below their MSRPs, and this marks one of the more interesting moments for the range, in terms of seeing one of the beefier models sneak below the $500 mark (if only by a cent).

    This MSI RTX 5070 represents a great deal with a 9% discount, bringing this GPU to its lowest price ever. If you're looking for a great performer at 1440p, then look no further this graphics card is blazingly fast at that resolution, and you get DLSS 4 (with frame generation) to speed up supported games further. Okay, at this point you might be questioning isn't the RTX 5070 one of the graphics cards that you want to avoid from Nvidia's Blackwell range?

    Well, there's some truth to that, yes, as it has some unfortunate aspects in terms of its spec, the primary letdown being that Nvidia only equipped the
    RTX 5070 with 12GB of video memory.

    Really, it should have gone for 16GB for better future-proofing and indeed, better performance with some of the more demanding contemporary games. But 12GB is what we've got here, and it is on the light side for a video RAM pool these days. And no, it doesn't help either that a lesser tier GPU, the RTX 5060 Ti, has a 16GB flavor, so has more video RAM (it isn't the first time Team Green has pulled this stunt).

    Still, even considering all that, the RTX 5070 is a superb GPU for 1440p gaming , and you get the benefit of DLSS 4 MFG to boot. And if you compare it to the next step down in the Blackwell line-up, the mentioned RTX 5060 Ti
    16GB that's still a less powerful graphics card even if it has more VRAM and it's only $70 cheaper on Amazon currently for the most affordable (entry-level) model. (MSI's RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is actually only $10 cheaper
    than its RTX 5070 with this discount, which is obviously a no-brainer).

    What I'm trying to say is that this is a very solid deal, and one that might be worth considering in terms of a 'mainstream' GPU assuming you don't want to push up to get an RTX 5070 Ti (at which point you're looking at $750 on Amazon currently, a big price jump, and not remotely mainstream).

    The other consideration is that this price cut may be coming ahead of the launch of the rumored RTX 5070 Super, which could be compellingly priced possibly as low as $550 (add lots of salt with that, mind) and therefore
    push down the asking price of the RTX 5070.

    So, playing a waiting game might be a good idea. However, elsewhere on the rumor mill, there are whispers that these Super GPU refreshes might not turn up for quite some time yet possibly not until March through to May 2026 .

    As ever, then, it all depends on your current situation, and if you need a
    new GPU in the near-term, for a mid-range model, this discounted MSI RTX 5070 looks tempting.
