    Description:
The Hunting Wives season 2 is officially in production. Here's everything we know so far about the hit Netflix show's return.

FULL STORY ======================================================================The Hunting Wives season 2: key information - Began production in November 2025
    - Release date still to be confirmed
    - No official trailer yet
    - Main cast set to return
    - Original script to pick up for season 2
    - Showrunner, Rebecca Cutter, hints at a "time jump"

The Hunting Wives season 2 is officially in production, which means more Akerman, Snow... and that wig are on the way.

Season 1 introduced us to the fictional Maple Brook, Texas, where some pretty disturbing events all seemed to center around the upper class wives of the town. And it's these wives who love to hunt, drink and shoot guns.

When Sophie (Brittany Snow) arrives in town, she's quickly integrated into their lives by their ringleader, Margo (Malin Akerman). And while at first it all seems like harmless fun, it quickly turns nasty, culminating in a
devilish finale. Not forgetting the obsessive romance that sparks between Margo and Sophie, just to make things a little bit more complicated.

So, what's next for the bingeworthy thriller? Here's everything we know so
far about The Hunting Wives season 2 from confirmed cast, predicted release date, plot rumors, news and more. The Hunting Wives season 2: is there a release date?

The production news follows the show's swift renewal less than two months after it premiered on Netflix. So, it was inevitable that this day would
come, but now it actually has we can make a tentative guess at a release
    date.

While there's been no official news, it's a bit of a guessing game, but given that season 1 reportedly took around 5 months to shoot, coming out a year later, I'd predict we'll be looking at late 2026, early 2027. Given that The Hunting Wives season 2 only headed into production in
November, any official trailer drop is a while away yet.

As is the case with most Netflix shows, the trailer will drop around a month or so before the show premieres, so I'm not expecting it anytime soon. Once
it does finally arrive though, I'll be sure to update it here. The Hunting Wives season 2: confirmed cast The main cast are set to return for The

While we don't have much to say on release date or trailer, we do know the following cast will be returning for The Hunting Wives season 2, thanks to Tudum : Brittany Snow as Sophie Malin Akerman as Margo Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks Jaime Ray Newman as Callie Evan Jonigkeit as Graham George Ferrier as Brad Karen Rodriguez as Deputy Salazar Hunter Emery as Deputy Flynn Branton Box as Sheriff Jonny Some big deaths in season 1 means certain cast won't be returning, or will they? The body count of The Hunting Wives season 1 was high. Four, in total, met their end and here's the fair warning to look away now if you don't know who those four people are.

Unsurprisingly, we imagine the following characters to not return, given they were murdered in season 1, and that's Abby (Madison Wolfe), Abby's mother Starr (Chrissy Metz), Jill (Katie Lowes) and Margo's brother, Kyle (Michael Aaron Milligan).

But here's the interesting thing, in the Instagram post for season 2's
renewal (featured above under release date), Katie Lowes is pictured in the images. So, whether there's a flashback or mysterious return for her character, we'll have to wait and see. The Hunting Wives season 2: story synopsis and rumors A lot of loose ends to tie up in season 2 (Image credit: Netflix)

Full spoilers for The Hunting Wives season 1.

After a lot of drama (and death) in the season 1 finale, there's a fair
amount to tie up in season 2 from illicit relationships to full-blown murder, but fortunately the plan appears to be to do exactly that.

Thanks to Tudum, we know that the next installment will be a continuation of the storyline based on an original script with this official logline: "Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?"

And when discussing her hopes for season 2, Brittany Snow told Glamour : "I would love nothing more than for Sophie to have a little bit more guidance
and to not be manipulated as easily, because once you find out your
girlfriend is a murdered, I think things change a little quickly.

"But it does put Sophie and Margo on even ground in a lot of ways that I find very interesting to explore, because now Sophie is a murderer as well. I'm going to be interested to see how that dynamic plays out, and I'm hoping that she doesn't forgive Margo and it takes a lot more to get them back together."

Sophie and Margo's volatile relationship was the core of the story, but with body bags aplenty and no resolution from the afterlife for any of the
victims, there's still a lot to unravel. Margo and Sophie's relationship is
    in trouble (Image credit: Netflix)

And speaking to Variety back in July 2025, before season 2's official
renewal, showrunner Rebecca Cutter shared some of her plans: "I think we'd do a little bit of a time jump not a year, but a time. By the end of shooting,
I realized that the two engines of the show are the whodunit and the Margo/Sophie relationship, and tracking how those spines intersect with each other."

She also added: "I think it would be smart to introduce a new murder mystery. But it's early stages. I don't know whodunit yet or who got done!"

Considering they're now rolling the cameras on season 2, the whodunit and who got done must be carved out and ready to go, and while May Cobb's book of the same name formed the basis for the season 1, the show has made some big changes from the very beginning. So, it'll be interesting to see where it heads next. Will there be more seasons of The Hunting Wives? No season 3 news for now (Image credit: Netflix)

It's hard to say right now. With The Hunting Wives season 2 only entering production in November 2025 and no confirmed release date on the horizon, talks of season 3 seem a while off.

As always though, we'll keep our ear to the ground and eyes peeled for any smoking guns to update you here if we pick up any intel.
