Chris Fall served in the role for just three months following his appointment in April 2026, and no reason has so far been given for his departure from the agency. Arvind Raman, the current head of the Commerce Department office that oversees the AI testing institute is set to temporarily take up the mantle as head of CAISI until a permanent alternative is found.
