    Description:
    The 6.18.5 , 6.12.65 , 6.6.120 , and 6.1.160 stable updates have been released. They all contain a small patch
    set fixing a scheduling regression associated with idle balancing; the
    6.6.120 and 6.1.60 updates also contain a large set of other important
    fixes.

    I've been wondering why are there so many kernels? I thouht there was just one Linux kernel.

    I've been wondering why are there so many kernels? I thouht there was just on
    Linux kernel.

    I am going to hazard a wild guess here but I think part of it has to do
    with the various distros and personal preference. If your distro has a
    more conservative release schedule, they might still be on the 6.1 or 6.6 release, while other less-conservative distros might be on 6.12 or maybe
    6.18.

    6.18 would also be available to those who like to compile their own kernels
    and stay on the cutting edge.

    released; each contains another set of important
    fixes. Note that the 6.19.x line ends with 6.19.14.
